Pardon the interruption

Have you ever been really enjoying a good book, movie, sporting event, or activity and something or someone comes along and interrupts the moment? That can be very irritating, frustrating and upsetting. Recently I had to ratchet that feeling up a few notches when I realized I was allowing worldly ways, lust of the flesh, corrupt attitudes and temptations to distract me from the will of God. Here He is trying to share His Word with me through the Bible and the Spirit and I have been telling Him in effect, "I'm busy" or "I'll be back in a little while." God wants continuous communion with us. It is awesome to know He is willing to indwell us at all times for all times. What does a book, or a paper, or website, or a movie, or even other friends or commitments have that can offer what His presence does? Seek Him first and everything we desire will be met! By not seeking Him first with all our heart, soul, mind and strength we let other/others distract us from Him. He is not interrupting us from our lives. He is offering us the life we are missing by chasing the satisfactions of our selves. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
